Small amount of blood in catheter after catherizing

by Gerry
(Calgary)

As per info under title.

-------------

Ron here...

Some blood spotting is often the case after removing a catheter. After all this is the result of inserting something inside a tube from the outside... not a normal function!

It should pass in a day and urination may burn from the urine. This is normal and not cause for concern.

The important thing is to try to reduce the need for a catheter if you can.

If bleeding increases and persists more than a small amount then seek medical attention.
