Prostate cancer and dysuria, frequency and slow urinary stream

by Shari
(Australia)

Hi,

I am looking for a more depth explanation for my question.

53 yr old, enlarged prostate gland, prostate cancer. Suffering from dysuria, frequency and slow urinary stream. I understand there is blockage causing this as well as detrusor has lost its ability to contract efficiently, but I am wanting to know I guess the patho-physiology as to why it is burning? Is there any other reason other than the blockage slows the flow and when it passes the blockage it burns?

-------------

Ron here,

Not sure why it "burns" other than the urine really wants to come out but is restricted and so it hurts. Can also be caused by urinary tract infection (UTI).
