So let's get to it...

New book: Sleep Secrets

I have not written a newsletter in quite some time. I have been writing a new book called Sleep Secrets which will come out in the fall. It has been a major project to write and edit because of the vast amount of information on the subject.

What is unique about the book is the amalgamation of tips and ideas from a vast array of experts, doctors and sources….

If you have a prostate problem, no doubt sleep troubles are a big issue in your life.

Regarding the prostate and this site, a big effort was done to convert the site to mobile friendly. Already 40% of site visitors use mobile for accessing the site.

Prostatic Artery Embolization

I want to share with you a new enlarged prostate procedure that has had excellent success for very enlarged prostate sufferers.

It is a non-surgical procedure that has no negative side effects, and has positive effects instead.

It is a high tech procedure that inserts a tiny 1 ml catheter into the arteries that supply blood to the prostate. It is done with a local anesthetic, no pain at all taking about a half hour or so to complete.

Tiny "beads" are deposited though the catheter near the prostate. This reduces the supply of blood to the prostate resulting in some shrinkage of its size and thus an improvement in prostate symptoms.

The procedure was developed by Dr Pisco in Portugal and well over 800 have been done since by him. He has trained doctors from around the world who come to the hospital there to learn it, including the famed Mayo Clinic. You can now search for hospitals that are doing it in the U.S. and other countries.

I had it done because I found that the one symptom which still remained for me was a sensitivity to many foods. When eaten my urination frequency would go up.

As a result of the procedure my sensitivity has declined dramatically and I can eat many foods in moderation that caused reactions before. My nighttime urination has also improved form 2 plus times to 1 plus times per night and the volume is up as well.

A side effect that has happened is an added bonus: ejaculation amount has doubled. Not a bad side effect!

If you are still struggling with enlarged prostate issues even after making changes to your diet and lifestyle as I describe in my books, then perhaps Prostatic Artery Embolization is worth investigating. Prostatic Embolization

The Debate Continues on PSA Testing

As I have written about on this site and in my books, the PSA test is a can of worms. It is not accurate, leads to unnecessary biopsies and surgeries, and does not increase your life expectancy. New recommendations have come out to not focus on the test. Many established urologists have tried to discredit the latest recommendations and so the debate continues.

I still maintain that the best thing you can do if you have prostate cancer is to change your inputs once you have learned about the causes. Then watchful waiting will be on your side.

Having surgery or other aggressive prostate cancer treatments does not increase your life expectancy. So why do them when they have such unpleasant side effects?

Change your diet to natural organic foods, prepare most meals at home, limit exposures to toxins from foods, body care products, household products, and water, and exercise regularly.

Limit Your Sitting Time!

Yes sitting all day as most of us do has been shown to be a huge health drain. Read this article:

"Even if You Exercise, Sitting Eight Hours a Day Significantly Increases Your Risk of Dying From Any Cause" Sitting All Day I also imagine at some point we will have studies that show that sitting has a big impact on prostate health. The congestion from prolonged sitting must be a contributor to protest issues in our modern age of sitting for such prolonged periods.

The solution is to start with getting up every half hour for a minute or two and move around. Better yet is to use a stand-up desk. I have tried that and I find it easier and easier to use all day. I am now adding a mat that requires you to adjust your balance constantly so that you do not strain your ligaments or muscles.

Here are the 2 inexpensive items I use: iCraze Adjustable Vented Laptop Table Laptop Computer Desk and this standing pad X-Large Blue Balance Pad You can also get a treadmill desk

but I would try the simple solutions above first before you spend a lot of money.

We were not designed to sit all day. The congestion and inactivity have hurt our prostates. Stand-up more, move more and your prostate will respond. That's it for now. I hope that your prostate health is constantly improving. If you have any questions, just drop me a line.

All the best to you,

Ron
