My father has prostate cancer now for 2 yrs.He stopped his quarterly hormone shots a yr ago.Now upon a visit to er because he could not urinate, they have found a mass in the lung and mass on the tongue.He is 83, heavy smoker and opted no treatment.Does this sound like he could not be with us very long.My Mom is in denial that he is very sick, need a professional opinion.

I am not a medical doctor so cannot give professional advice.
But someone who has smoked so long looks like time has caught up with him. But who knows? People can do miraculous things.
Prepare your self. Your Mom may not be able to accept what is inevitable as it is too shocking. Just love her and your dad to the best you can and hope for the best.
